Coastline Imaging Adds Second Location, New Ewquipment

You have many choices when selecting a diagnostic testing facility. Part of that decision should include finding a location that can give you a combination of state-of-the-art equipment coupled with a team of highly skilled professionals who can provide the expertise to give you the most accurate results possible. "At Coastline Imaging, we pride ourselves in giving you the latest, most advanced and most comfortable Magnetic Resonance Imaging exam. To some, the thought of having an MRI can cause anxiety during an already troublesome time. Our highly-trained, board-certified radiologists are focused on your comfort with an unmatched standard of exceptional patient service," said co-owners Mark Nicole and Jim Eaker. Because of this commitment to their patients, Coastline Imaging has opened a second location with a new piece of equipment to give their patients even more options. Coastline Imaging purchased the GE Signa Ovation Open MRI system, which is the first Open MRI in the nation with Excite technology and is designed to provide patient comfort during theperformance of routine and specialized clinical examinations using a comprehensive range of pulse sequences and image enhancement techniques. The system uses the proven LX computer platform.

Using the same LX system simplifies the implementation of new applications and helps deliver the high quality and performance that patients should expect. Coastline Imaging's second location is now open at 1341 Medical Park Drive, Suite 102 (off Hibiscus Boulevard). Coastline Imaging still offers their complete services at their original location within the Indus Pavilion on Eau Gallie Boulevard in Melbourne. Coastline Imaging performs MRI exams for family practitioners as well as a wide variety of physician specialists. Coastline Imaging's Eau Gallie Boulevard location features the General Electric Signa LX Short Bore System. The new short bore system is equipped with the very latest technology. The short bore is extremely patient friendly and has significantly improved the quality and versatility of imaging procedures across the board. The LX is capable of completing most exams within 15 minutes or less. This technology is also reshaping the ever growing MRI Angiography field. Coastline Imaging offers a variety of diagnostic services including Spiral CT, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Arthrography, EEG, Dexascan, and plain film X-Ray. Creating this environment for diagnostic testing arose from the company's response to the growing demand of its client base for additional imaging modalities.

The strength that separates Coastline Imaging from the rest of the market is and will continue to be its commitment to serving its referral base. This is accomplished by the team of dedicated and professional staff that views the care of each individual patient of the absolute highest priority during each and every day. It is and will always be the goal of the organization to place the patient first and foremost when they arrive at the facility for diagnostic testing. Preparing For An MRI Due to today's technology, MRI examinations require no special preparation or medication prior to the procedure. However, here are some things that you should do prior to arriving at the center:

* Take your normal medications and eat as you usually do.

* Avoid wearing restrictive clothing, particularly belts, buckles and/or anything with metal.

* Advise your physician if you have a pacemaker, prosthesis, surgical clips, metal implants, piercings or any other metal objects in, or on, your body.

* Leave metal objects at home such as jewelry, watches, coins, keys, hairpins and clips, pocketknives and credit cards.

* Avoid wearing eye makeup (metal flakes can be found in some eye shadows).

* Advise your doctor if you work with metal finishing/grinding equipment. If you have any other questions about the test, ask your doctor before your scheduled appointment.
